The Rhode Island Employer's state ID no. is 10 characters long but your form only allows for 9.

If your state employer ID number is 10 characters, just enter the first nine characters. This shouldn't affect you being able to e-file your return provided there are not other errors on your return. Your state department of revenue will be able to identify your employer from their 9-digit federal EIN.
