Question

This is my first year working as a Software Engineer as an Aerospace employee. Would I be able to only use the SWE credit now and use the Aerospace Employee credit later?

I saw in the learn more section that the Aerospace Employee credit is for 5 years but doesn't have to be used in consecutive years, so I would rather not use it this first years as my state tax wasn't that high this year

    Yes, if you qualify, you can decide which tax credits to take each year.
