Question
TT is applying other state tax and PTET credits to CA 540. However, it is applying the total as the PTET on 3804 leaving a short credit for next year. Why?
My other state tax is 27,000 and PTET is 111,000 or 138,000 total reducing taxes to 0. But I paid 135,000 in PTET in 2022 and had 17,000 PTET CR from 2021. My 3804 should show 152,000 - 111,000 leaving a PTET CR of 41,000. Instead it’s showing 152,000 - 138,000 leaving a PTET CR of 14,000. This seems like a calculation error. Unfortunately, I cannot override the 138,000 with the 111,000 in forms. Please help.
