Question

TurboTax is saying we don't qualify for the Minnesota Marriage Credit and we satisfy all of the requirements that are listed in TurboTax. What am I missing?

Let's go over the eligibility criteria to see if we can identify any potential issues:

    Eligibility Requirements:

    1. You must be married and file a joint return.
    2. Both you and your spouse must have Minnesota taxable earned income, taxable pensions, or taxable Social Security income.
      1. By chance was income of one of the spouse earned in another state
      2. If either of you is a part-year resident or nonresident, the credit is based on the percentage of Minnesota income
      3. Income Calculation: Ensure that all income included meets the IRS definition of earned income and is taxable in Minnesota
    3. Your joint taxable income must be at least $47,000.
    4.  The income of the lesser-earning spouse must be at least $30,000.
