Under 'Allocate Wage Income', if I lived in New York City for 3 months out of the year, do I enter 25 or .25 for 'Resident Percentage'?

To allocate wages to New York in TurboTax, you can choose one of the following methods:

  1. 100% New York State Income: If all your income was earned in New York.
  2. Allocate by Number of Days: Calculate the number of days you lived and worked in New York.
  3. Allocate by Percentage: Enter 25 for the 'Resident Percentage' if you lived in New York City for 3 months out of the year.
  4. Don’t Allocate This Employer: If the income from this employer is not subject to New York State tax.
  5. Allocate Over Multiple Years: If the income spans multiple tax years.
