Under My Info section: State of residence (on December 31,2023): what does this mean, where I am excatly on that day? Or State of Residence generally maximum spent year

The question is asked to ensure your tax return uses the correct state of residence when preparing your state income tax return or returns if you moved to a different state during the year.  

 

Your response to this question should be the state of residence at the end of the tax year, not specifically where you were on that exact date.
