Hi, I'm preparing New York state tax and I have a question. On the page "New York Income Allocation", which says "Enter the amount of federal income that was derived from New York sources. If none, enter zero.", I have a -$5000 miscellaneous income that was for US-China Tax Treaty when filing federal tax. The page asks for "New York Source Portion." What should I put here, zero or -5000?

I assume the income adjustment is related to non New York sourced income. If so, you would enter $0.
