Virginia Filing status and TurboTax desktop support

Hello ,

I moved out of VA to TX on 01/30/2023 but my spouse was a full year resident. I have only one pay check from virginia sources . Filed federal taxes Married filing jointly .

1)What's our VA filing status ?

2) When i tried to use filing status = 3 ( Married Filing separately) Turbo Tax is just creating only 760 PY for me .

any suggestions ? Thanks in advance

Check to see if TurboTax (TT) changed your filing status to 4 Married, Filing Separately on this combine return (instead of 3 Married, Filing Separate Returns)

Virginia has an online interactive tool that you can use to determine the proper tax form to file:

https://www.tax.virginia.gov/what-form-should-you-file

Once you determine the proper form, go to that form's online instructions and look under Fling Status to see your options. You can find a link to each form's instructions here:
