Question

W2 wages exempt from NY state tax

I received income from working as a poll worker in New York State and was issued a W2.

From what I researched this income is subject to Federal income tax but is exempt from New York State income tax.

How do I exclude these wages from my NY State return.  My total wages carry over from my Federal return and I don't see a way to adjust them.

According to this website, a bill that would exempt poll worker compensation from state income tax has been introduced in the New York Assembly, but it has not yet been passed.

    Thanks for the response.

I guess that was wishful thinking on my part.

Let's hope the legislation gets passed.
