Question

We moved from FL to SC. FL has no state tax. How much estimated tax (self-employed) do we pay for federal and state in SC versus FL with no state tax? Thanks!

We moved to SC on December 31st so we are perfectly split between tax years and states. We didn't pay Florida state taxes as they don't have state income tax. We generally paid $2000 per quarter in FL for federal. We are trying to figure out how much we need to pay for state (SC) and federal quarterly taxes now that we have moved to a state with income tax. Thanks in advance!

Yes.  The tax rates in South Carolina (SC) are based on a graduated system, similar to the IRS.

Depending on the income level for your tax return (2020 will be a perfect example) you can use the rate indicated.  It's a good idea to use your taxable income to decide which rate is best to make your estimated tax close to what might be due at tax time.  SC uses the federal taxable income to start their tax return.
