Question

We moved from Texas to Missouri. We closed our retirement account in Texas in 2023. Is that money considered made in a state other than Missouri?

Do you mean you withdrew your funds from an IRA or other retirement account?

If yes, that would be income for the state in which you were living when you took the disbursement.

So, if you closed the account when living in Texas, it would not be income for Missouri.

If you moved to Missouri and then closed the account (even if the account was located in Texas) it would be Missouri income.
