What date do I put "date you became a resident of" if I lived in another state during 2023 but did not change residency? It will not let me put a date before 01/01/2023?

I did not change residency while I lived in the other state since it was part of a fellowship.

You are in the education forum and students do not live in other states- usually. A student will maintain home with family and is a nonresident in other states. For your home state, enter 1/1/2023 since that shows you were there when the year began. Other states would be nonresident.
