Question

What does "CWG" mean in Box 14 of my W2? It's only $15. I work in NJ but live in PA so it might be related to either state. Does anyone know what this is?

Might be time to ask your employer...or call another PA coworker, who may have worked there for many years.

I can't be sure, but CWG may represent Continental Western Group Insurance, but your employer should be able to quickly tell you what it is.

Box 14 is provided for your employer to report additional tax information. It's simply an information box.

If any amounts are reported in Box 14, it should include a brief description of what they're for. For example, union dues, employer-paid tuition assistance or after-tax contributions to retirement plans.

This information may be used in a different part of your return, but it won't affect your W-2.  You can choose to leave it blank.
