Question

What does it mean when it says Use tax purchases shouldn't be less than or equal to zero. I don't know what to do put or what it means.

It's asking me to review my tax return form and it says I cannot put 0 for use tax purchases. I don't understand what it wants me to put or what should go there. It says it shouldn't be less than or equal to zero.

A Use Tax is a generally a sales tax charged on purchases made out of state - that it, when you do mail order from another state, and no sales tax was charged in either state.

You were probably asked if you had any items on which you should pay Use Tax, and you said "Yes". On the next screen, you should enter the dollar amount of the tax in question, which, as noted, should not be zero or less. If you don't say yes to the Use Tax question, then you won't be asked for a number, so this won't be a problem.
