Compensation normally refers to wage income as reported on a W-2 form. Taxable Pennsylvania compensation would be the portion of your wages taxable in Pennsylvania. You may have earned wages in other states during the year, that would not be included in Pennsylvania taxable compensation. If you  could clarify what the screen says that you are looking at we may be able to give you a more definitive answer.
