The state of Nevada generally does not have personal income tax. It does, however, have sales and use tax. Depending on the city, rates may fluctuate. For reference to the different cities/counties and their applicable sales tax rates, please see:

Are you asking about sales tax you paid in NV?   Nevada does not have a state income tax.   If you are preparing a federal tax return and are itemizing deductions, you can enter sales tax you paid in NV as an itemized deduction.

Sales tax is an itemized deduction. “Major purchases” that you can enter for the sales tax deduction include:

Motor Vehicles (cars, trucks, motor homes, RV’s, sport utility vehicles and off-road vehicles

Aircraft or boats

Mobile homes

Manufactured housing

Building materials for major home improvements

You cannot deduct: furniture, jewelry, home electronics such as TV’s or computers
