But it won't actually be sent until AFTER the IRS accepts the Federal file...sometime the week of 29 January.

If you haven't file either yet, wait until the first week in Feb (or later) to actually file.

IF you've already submitted the Federal file, you won't be able to submit MI until after the IRS accepts that Federal tax file..

The federal income tax was accepted days ago why has my state taxes not been filed

Per the Michigan Department of Treasury:

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will open the IIT 2023 e-file season on January 29, 2024. Michigan will retrieve and acknowledge IIT e-file returns on the same day the IRS opens for e-file. E-filing and choosing Direct Deposit is the fastest way to receive your Michigan refund.

You can check your refund status online.

Please allow the appropriate time to pass before checking your refund status:

E-filed Returns: Allow 2 weeks from the date you received confirmation that your e-filed state return was accepted before checking for information.

Paper-filed Returns: Allow 6 weeks before checking for information.

Since your Federal return has been accepted, your Michigan State Return should be ready soon.  The Form's availability was projected for January 25, which is tomorrow.

@LindaS5247

The issue is not with the Michigan Department of Treasury, but with TT.  The MI state form is still not available for filing in TT as of 5 minutes ago.

This issue repeats itself every year - MI forms available everywhere but in TT.

When will this issue be fixed for this year and what is TT going to do so this doesn't happen year after year?

It appears I’m still not able to file the taxes for MI even after the federal taxes were accepted. When will the MI forms be completed for filing. It says my information is saved but will not let me file nor pay?

Correct...come back 1 or 2 Feb.

The TTX state availability app says 31 January...but don't try until 1 Feb.

I havet seen a changed today ? Should I file my federal or wait til state accepts ?

January 31, 2024

This seems to be a Turbotax issue not a Michigan one.  Michigan is stating go ahead and file but Turbotax is stating Michigan forms are not ready.  My federal is filed and accepted so that is not an issue.  TT/intuit needs to update their software ASAP!

I’m guessing it’s the same for me but I submitted my federal and just tried doing my state and it says. Our records indicate that you are not entitled to e-file one or more formsets.Hoping they fix this soon

@eca530278f37  Does yours also say

Our records indicate that you are not entitled to e-file one or more formsets.

Same. I just tried and got the message: my transmission couldn’t go through even though they charged me right before that and when I filed my federal they had already charged me for filing state in the future. Very frustrating to not receive anything from TT stating anything about the problem
