Enter all income earned in 2017, no matter what state.

To enter a W-2:

1.       Click Federal on the left-hand side menu.

2.       Click Income across the top.

3.       Scroll down to Wages and Salaries and click Show more.

4.       Click Start or Revisit by Wages and Salaries.

In box 15 (State) you'll have to enter the different state (ND).  In addition to filing an SD return, you must file in ND as a non-resident:

If you were a full-year nonresident of North Dakota for the 2017 tax year, you must file a 2017 North Dakota individual income tax return if both of the following apply:

• You are required to file a 2017 federal individual income tax return.

• You derived gross income from North Dakota sources during the 2017 tax year.
