Where is the line for deducting sales tax paid to the State of Michigan?

Purchased an automobile and paid sales tax on it. Should be able to deduct that along with other sales tax paid to State of Michigan as i do not pay income tax to the state

SALES TAX

You can enter the sales tax you paid in 2024 by going to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid> Sales Tax.

Sales tax is an itemized deduction. Unless you have enough other itemized deductions (such as mortgage interest or medical expenses) to exceed your standard deduction the sales tax will have no effect on your tax due or refund.
