Which state would I pay taxes to?

I currently reside in MD. My job is MD. It was originally an office job but moved to WFH due to the pandemic. I am now moving to CA but will be keeping my job. Will I still be paying taxes in MD, or am I paying taxes in CA? For 2022 taxes, I would be paying taxes in both states since I lived half the year in each state, correct? But from 2023 onwards, it would only be for CA, right? Thanks.

After your move to CA, ask your employer to cease withholding MD taxes and to begin withholding CA taxes for you.  If your employer is unable to withhold CA taxes, you'll need to make quarterly estimated tax payments to CA.  This reference gives the details on that:

presently MD does not tax telecommuters so in 2023  you would only pay tax in CA.
