Why can't I deduct my computer for business use? The deduction shows up under "Information for your state return". My state does not file returns (TN).

Is it for use in your own business or self-employment, or for your work as an employee who gets a W-2? The new tax law eliminated the deduction for employee business expenses for 2018 through 2025. Some states that have income tax still allow the deduction. The listing of "information for your state return" is generic and does not take into account the specific state or whether you can actually get the deduction on your state return.
