Why do I have to pay state taxes in North Dakota where I work but my home is in Florida?

As a Florida resident, you do not have to pay state tax to Florida because Florida does not assess state income tax.  However, even though Florida does not tax your income, your income is taxable in another state if you work there, but only on the amount of income you earn in that state.  Here is an FAQ with additional information to assist you:  https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4777207
