Generally, if you have income that was sourced from any state that you are not a resident in, unless the state has a reciprocal agreement with the state in which you reside, you would have to file a tax return and pay taxes on the income that came from that state.
If you are a resident of Rhode Island, then any income you receive from any source worldwide would be taxable to Rhode Island.
Since RI does not have reciprocal agreements with any other state, if you received income in that state, you would have to pay taxes to RI on that income.
If you did not have income in RI, then you would need to go back to the personal info section and look to be sure you did not select RI as either your state of residence or a state in which you earned money.
