Will I live in Montana my retirement and SSI come from the State of Nevada do I have to pay Montana state taxes?

I don't understand what income I have has to be taxed in Montana when I earned it in Nevada?

    You pay tax to the state you live in when that state has a state income tax.   Montana taxes Social Security benefits and certain kinds of retirement income.   The state the retirement income is coming from is irrelevant.
