Question

Will someone please answer this question? I have been exempted from paying North Carolina income tax, but there" no place to enter this information within Turbo Tax?

I'm retired and have been exempted from paying my local state income taxes. Turbo Tax don't allows a place within it, to enter this information. Please help?????

You will need to review your input in the federal section of the program.

 

Go back to the Federal section of the program. 

  1. Select Income & Expenses 
  2. Select "IRA,401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) 
  3. Select "Edit" under the appropriate 1099-R form 
  4. Continue through the screens until you see the screen titled Where is your distribution from?
  5. Be sure to select the applicable source of income to ensure your retirement benefits are not taxable in North Carolina.
