Do I have to file nys return if my employer didn’t withheld any nys taxes? I work remotely from Texas for a nys employer. They stopped withholding state taxes and w2 shows very low amount for state.

According the convenience of the employer rule in NYS, your income working remotely for the NY company may be taxable in New York state, which will require you to file a NYS tax return. The fact that your employer didn't withhold NYS tax is irrelevant.

Please read this New York state revenue document for more information.
