Hi,

I work for a large consulting firm in California but was flying to Colorado 3 days a week for 4 months.

While I know I will be filing in CA where I reside and is my assigned work home, they did take some Colorado state taxes.

My W2 was imported so Turbotax has that.

Do I need to file in Colorado as well as California?

Thanks.

Yes, you have to file a Colorado nonresident tax return and pay Colorado tax on the income that you earned for working in Colorado. Since you live in California, all your income is subject California tax, no matter where the income is from. But you will get a credit on your California resident tax return for part or all of the tax that you pay to Colorado. Prepare your Colorado nonresident tax return first, then your California resident tax return, to make sure that the credit is calculated correctly.
