You saidIf my son worked in Florida while a full time student does he have to pay state taxes in Wisconsin his resident state?

It depends.  If he made more than $13,460, he is required to file a tax return.   Refer to WI Department of Revenue for Individual Income Tax Filing Requirements.

 

All income that is received by a WI resident must be reported on a Wisconsin tax return.  Wisconsin gives a credit for the tax paid to other states (if it's taxed in both states).   Florida doesn't have an income tax, so your son will have to pay income tax to WI for the money he earned in FL if he meets the WI filing requirements.
