I am active duty military and i was deployed to the middle east in September 2018 but did not return until April 2019. How do i file for the first part of 2019?

From what you have stated you were deployed in a combat zone for the last part of 2018 and the first part of 2019.  Combat pay is not taxable income.  The way combat pay is reported on your W-2 is in box 12 with a code Q.

 

If you put your information into TurboTax the same way you see on your W-2  you have reported your income for 2019 correctly from the military.
