Question

I am currently active duty military. I usually receive my state taxes back due to military pay exclusion for Louisiana. Why am I paying money this year?

If you are stationed in Louisiana and are using a Louisiana address on your state tax return, your military income should be exempt in Louisiana.

I suggest you make sure you indicated that you were active duty military in the personal information section in the federal section of TurboTax and then go through the state section again to make sure you answered all of the questions there properly.
