Question

I'm active duty military stationed in Colorado My residency is Iowa. My wife is a stay at home mom Colorado resident. I own a home in CO. Do I need to file CO return?

We don't have any other income besides my military income.

No, if your Home of Record is still Iowa, you have not necessarily established domicile in Colorado JUST by buying a home.  Just be careful- if you take other steps such as changing driver's license, auto registration, voter registration, banks, etc. you may lose the protection of the SCRA.  If you intend to one day go "home" to Iowa you probably have not abandoned HoR.
