I'm in the Military, home of resident is NY. But while serving and stationed away, I am exempt from state tax. What can i do to show $0 due to NY tax?

As a NY resident, you will need to file a return. It will ask about combat pay for the deduction. Regular military pay is taxable to the same extent as Federal.
