Question

I retired from the Air Force on 1 Jun19. While active duty, my state of residence was TX. But, I moved to MA in Jul 19. Should I list TX or MA as my state of residence?

You will have TX as State of residence from Jan - Jun and then MA starting from July. Please see the instructions below on how to enter this in TurboTax.

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click "My Info" from the left side of your screen
  3. Click “Edit” next to your name
  4. Please scroll down to “2. Tell us the state(s) you lived in
  5. Select "Massachusetts"
  6. Select "Yes" to "I lived in another state in 2019."
  7. Select "Texas"
  8. Enter the date you moved to MA
