My spouse is US military and we are stationed in the UK. We are both residents of Virginia. I am working on the local economy and would like to know how to file state income taxes next year? Are there any exemptions that I would qualify for because of my husbands military status? Thank you.

    Here's what I found at https://www.tax.virginia.gov/military-spouses-residency-relief-act-faqs

    Q. My service member spouse and I are living in another state pursuant to military orders, and we claim Virginia as our state of legal residence. Do I have to pay Virginia tax on my income?

    A. Yes. As a legal resident of Virginia, you are subject to Virginia income tax on your income from all sources. For details on filing requirements for residents, refer to the instructions for Form 760, Virginia Resident Income Tax Return .
