Question

Turbotax doesn't account for the change in Virginia that military retirees under the age of 55 can now take the $30,000 exemption in 2024. Anyone else seeing this issue?

The 2024 Virginia forms and schedules will not be finalized until 01/16/2025 in TurboTax.

Go to this TurboTax website for federal and state forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg

There are still a lot of updates that will occur to the federal and state forms during the next several weeks.  Quite a few VA forms are not expected to be ready until 1-16 at the earliest.  Be patient and check for updates.

This still has not been fixed. There is NO age restriction for military retirement deduction for Virginia filer's. Any idea when will this be fixed?

To check the status of forms availability, please use the tool in that link.   You can search for both federal and state form updates.  @Jenintoano

The link shows all Virginia forms are now available, but Turbotax still incorrectly has the 55 age limit for the military retiree tax exemption.
