Why is the cost of Audit Defense 900% higher than last year and the previous 20 some years?

My son and his family may be PCSing back to the States in 2022, and they heard everyone gets audited when they do, so I've always gotten the protection for them, but $600 on the home & business and $450 on the deluxe is insane!

How is the $45 for Audit Defense higher by 900% then the $45 charge for Audit Defense on the 2020 tax return?

Maybe my additional comment isn't visible, but I used Home & Business, and Audit Defense was listed as, for only $600 more. . . So I contacted Intuit, and a rep looked at my screen to verify the $600, and said it was probably because I had the version for business. I thought that was reasonable, since more complications would maybe trigger more audits in that version. So I requested a refund and bought the Deluxe version. I get through review, and it says, for only $450 more. . . I always got Audit Defense for us, and for our Army son, but this is ridiculous.

Did you buy 2021 Audit Defense for $45?

There is something wrong with your software. Make sure that you have the latest release. Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen. Click on Check for Updates.
