Form 8915-F for Qualified Disaster Distribution for covid

If we took a covid disaster distribution from our 401k in 2022 and spread the taxes owed over three years (2020, 2021, 2022) then for tax years 2020 and 2021 we had to enter that information into forms 8915-E (2020) and 8915-F (2021).  But it looks like for tax year 2022 that TurboTax is creating and entering the data for Form 8915-F automatically.  Is that right?  Is there anything further that we need to do for on this issue for tax year 2022? Thanks.

Yes, TurboTax can carry over the data from the previous year. Please verify that the information carried over is correct. After you have confirmed the entries, you can continue with your return.

Please follow these steps to get to the Covid retirement distribution screen:

    1. Click on the "Search" on the top and type “1099-R”
    2. Click on “Jump to 1099-R”
    3. If you do not have any 2022 1099-R answer "No" to "Did you get a 1099-R in 2022?" (If you have any other 1099-R then enter all 1099-R and after entering your last 1099-R click "Continue" on the “Review your 1099-R info” screen)
    4. Answer "Yes" to the "Have you ever taken a disaster distribution before 2022?" screen
    5. Answer "Yes" to "Did you take a 2021 Qualified Disaster Distribution?"
    6. Check the box next to "If this was a Coronavirus-related distribution reported in 2020 check here" and verify your information.
