New tax law for RMDs

Turbo tax deluxe needs to be updated for the new tax law passed in Dec 2022 for Required Minimum Distributions RMDs. My Turbo tax says I need to take them this year because i'm 72, but I don't turn 72 until December 2023. New law says required age is 73.

    The age to start RMDs has been raised to 73 by the Secure 2.0 Act only from tax year 2023.

     

    If you reach age 72 in 2022, you are required to take your RMD, but as this is the first year for you, you can delay it until April 1, 2023.
