What documentation should the installer provide to myself, a home owner for a new split AC unit installed in 2023

Thanks for your question. If the IRS were to question the credit on your return, you'll want to be able to prove what was installed and how much you paid for it. So you'll want an itemized receipt to prove the amount. If push comes to shove the unit will be attached to your home, so you can always prove that you have a qualifying unit 🙂 Thanks again!
