After verifying identity 4883C, how long does it really take? Especially if you claimed EITC

So I filed 1/23 and accepted 1/24 after not receiving my refund I contacted the IRS and they told me I was “suppose” to get a letter but hadn’t received it yet. I received letter 3/5/18 and successfully verified my identity 3/5/18.. I claimed EITC, I’m a single mom and need my money back in hopes of getting my car fixed. Can anyone give me hope? 9 weeks is so unacceptable

The IRS states it can take up to 9 weeks for them to process your paperwork and release your refund. Some taxpayers that are in similar situation as yours have reported that it has taken 5-6 weeks for some to receive their refunds. Keep in mind each taxpayers situation is unique and it could take the full 9 weeks.

According to the IRS website: "After you verify your identity and tax return information using this service, it may take up to 9 weeks to complete the processing of the return. Visit Where’s My Refund? or use the IRS2Go mobile app 2-3 weeks after using this service to check your refund status."

After you verify your identity at the irs , how long does it really take to get your refund ? Or how long does it take for your irs status to change from being reviewed to approved ?
