I filed on 2/4 and it was accepted by the IRS on 2/12. Unfortunately, mine was to be direct deposited but I had the wrong account number so it was returned by the bank to IRS on 2/19. 35 days later it still has not arrived. When I called IRS they said 6-8 weeks. From what date I don't know!

My refund was rejected by my bank on feb. 24 2021 it's been over a month I verified with my bank that my refund was rejected and sent back to the irs the same day by my bank how long till I get a paper check pmt tool stills says it was direct deposited on feb 24 2021 no updates my stimulis check was rejected to but got that in 11 days any advice?

Here is an update. I got my paper check on Monday 3/29. It took a little over a month from when they first tried to deposit my check on 2/26 to receiving it. The irs website has never changed and still references the 2/26 direct deposit so I wouldn’t go by that site.

Thank you, i found out my money was sent back after the bank refunded it and they told me about 4-5 weeks i should receive a check, that was on march 22nd. My stimulus updated from being deposited to mailed out on 3/29/21. Thank you all for your help!

Once the financial institution recovers the funds and returns them to the IRS, it can take up to 5 business days for the IRS to receive the funds back.

Once the IRS receives the funds they will send you a paper check. This can take up to 10 business days for you to receive it. The IRS will send a paper refund check to your last known address on file with the IRS.

Keep an eye on the IRS Where’s My Refund? tool, it should update to show when your paper check has been sent.

I got my refund in sent my bank and rejected it because the name and address wasn’t the same it took two business days to return back to the irs I called the irs and talked to someone and the person it can be up to 5 weeks before I get anything back I just want to know how long does it take before I get a paper check in the mail it’s already been a week

You will need to allow up to 5 weeks as stated by the IRS. If you still have not received your refund at that time, you will need to reach back out to the IRS.

I called they said my check was mailed Feb 28th an it's almost March 14th an it still hasn't arrived

I have a question to ask about the Santa Barbara Tax Group. I recently called them to find out where my refund was and the first time I called them, which was an automated machine it said that it mailed out the check on the day I called them 03/30/2022 But when I called back a second time which was 04/01/2022 it said the check was mailed out on the same day I called them a second time which is today. Is this a problem does it mean it didn’t really mail out?

I spoke with them the other day and was told they did mail out a check. I just called and got the todays date as well. I’m going to call again when they open because this is ridiculous.

Yeah I found three phone numbers from them but theyre automated. I can’t get through to a live person, it’s just the machine. If you find a way can let me know?

I put in one number wrong to my account number and now not sure how long I'll have to wait for a check to come in the mail .. said it was on 4/6 for dd any ideas on how long I have to wait

We cannot give you an exact date as to when the IRS will re-issue your refund check. They might be able to give you a better timeline if you reach out to the IRS directly. To do this, please see the instructions below:

Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, local time

Monday-Friday

Listen to each menu before making the selection.
First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent.

Or, you can visit your local IRS Office.

Did you have to fill out a tax payer bond because your check may have gotten lost? I had to and now I’m waiting because some lady I spoke to when I was calling about the location of my check she stated it might have gotten lost and that I should fill out a form that she sent me called the Tax payer bond but now I don’t how long that’ll take.

I did that form and was told my check was mailed on 4-06. Still haven’t received it. Called yesterday and was told that it was actually mailed 4-08 and if I don’t receive it this time, it will have to go back to the IRS. They don’t have an ETA on when it will be sent back because they have a waiting list for checks to be sent back. There are so many people who have had trouble with this tax group. They are not accredited by the BBB. Neither is the bank they use. I honestly feel scammed and will not be using Turbo Tax ever again.

I haven’t received anything yet I was told that my check was mailed Tuesday and I called back two more times to confirm that it was mailed Tuesday so now I have to wait.
