Youre only entering the federal refund amount, right?  Not the combination of fed and state together?

Thank you for this tip! It worked after only entering my federal.

Be sure to use what is showing on Line 20a of your actual return Form 1040.

There is no line 20a. Did you mean line 35a?

July 24, 2024

The tax forms do change from year to year so the lines will also change.  Since this post is over 2 years old, assuming you are trying to locate the refund amount on your tax return, you are correct and will look for the amount on line 35a.

@cherriesplz24    You said in another thread that you were previously able to see one bar.   If you were able to find your return with WMR previously, but it can't find your info now, then you can phone the IRS and ask them about your return.   If the IRS received your return and started processing it, they are the only one who will know what all they are doing with it and why you are no longer able to find it.

Here's how to maneuver through their phone tree to reach a live agent.

 IRS:  800-829-1040  hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri

Listen to each menu before making the selection.

First choose your language. Press 1 for English.

Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."  It should then transfer you to an agent, but there is likely to be a long wait.

I usually use a speakerphone so I can work on something else while waiting.

Why is it that Turbo tax doesn't feel any Accountability seeing as though I used their services to "Securely" transmit my Return? I filed several weeks ago and got "Accepted" by both IRS & State but NO RECORD

Are you sure your efiled return was accepted?  You can doublecheck with this tool:
https://shop.turbotax.intuit.com/efile/efile_status_lookup.jsp

Be sure you wait at least 24 hours after acceptance before trying the WMR tool.

When using the IRS WMR tool, verify SSN and filing status are correct.

Look at your actual 2018 return to get the federal refund amount.  Be sure you are using what is displayed on your 1040, Line 20a for the Federal refund amount.

Use only the Federal refund amount.  Do not use any combined figure that contains the state refund.

And if you are paying your fees out of the Federal refund, use the Federal amount without regard to the fee subtraction; i.e., the amount before any fees are subtracted.
