I get my taxes every single year on February 14. This is because I have earned income credit, typically abbreviated as EIC. One year I got it on the 15th because I filed later than usual. Anytime I file between January 22 through January 28, my return always comes on Valentine’s Day give or take literally just one day.

This year I filed earlier than usual. I filed January 22nd , my federal was accepted January 23. When I check my refund status it tells me to check back Mid- late February for an updated status.

but on turbo tax my green line is complete also it says that my refund has been accepted and it’s on its way…. What is considered mid February? I’d say the 14 which would be today technically speaking.. but I have no updates.

I really need my money I’m hoping it’s coming this week hopefully before the weekend because I E FILED

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2022 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait.   It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns.   Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund earlier than late February.

Did you get any new update as of today?

February 16, 2023

Yes I actually called the IRS They told me that my refund is scheduled to be deposited on the 20th. In which I don’t understand why or how because the 20th is a bank holiday… I’m sure a holiday for them as well which means I probably won’t get my money until Tuesday.. the 21st…

but my friend banks with chime and he told me his refund came 2 days early than what the IRS tracker stated.. so hopefully that’ll be my case ..

@Goldpots4 Your post was blank--no question there.  But this thread was begun with questions pertaining to the PATH delay for refunds.
