DEMAND TURBOTAX NOT TO DISCONTINUE CD FOR 2024 TAX YEAR

intuit turbotax has made poor decisions in the past that have been reversed, because customers would not stand for it. Discontinuing the  CD version of turbo tax will not be tolerated by many customers and it will cost turbotax more than they plan on saving. I am asking turbotax to reverse this poorly thought out decision to discontinue the CD version and only offering downloads. I personally will not purchase a download and I am sure  they lose many current and future customers, because of this decision.

I agree, I like the CD.  Yes, I've read the posts below (online version is not the same as the download, download is the exact same as the CD, yes, got it).  I still like the CD.  I'd even pay extra for it if TT would burn just a few and ship one out to me.  Seems like I wouldn't be alone.

And please don't tell me, "You'll get used to it. It will be ok."  If TT does listen (for TY 2025, certainly too late for 2024), and does burn a few CD's and ship them out next year, personally, to those few of us who still want the CD, well, then you too will be fine, you too will get used to it.

@andthentherewas1   Did you see the posts above?  You said you will pay extra for a CD?    You can buy an install CD for 2024 for $10 after you buy the download and a License Code

Thank you, yes, I *just* saw that -- am working on it now.  Seems I can go to Staples to buy the code ("Product Key Card" they call it), use my store coupon there, and then come back here and buy the CD?  Is that correct, do you know?

I bought TurboTax Home&Business for our PC and Mac, as the product advertises that it works for both and that we are allowed five copies. Without the CD, I was unable to activate the installed version on the Mac, as the activation code had been used on a PC. After a few hours of seeking an answer, including time on the phone with TurboTax service, I was told that in order to activate it on the Mac, I would have to use virtualization software or Bootcamp (creating a PC environment for my Mac) because the software was "primarily intended for the PC."

I do not think I should have to go to those lengths to activate software that was marketed as capable for both operating systems. I finally purchased a second copy of the software in order to get another activation code so that I can use it on my Mac. When we had the CD version, we didn't have this problem. Very unhappy.

Yes you can download the other operating system.  To install on another computer you just have to log into your Intuit Online Account.  Then you can get the other one.  You can also now buy an install CD for $10 after you buy the program and license code.

What much ado about nothing! If you absolutely must have an external backup copy of your ttax program, go ahead and logon to your intuit account, download your ttax program. Then if you have a cd/DVD drive, burn the program and license code to a cd. If your computer doesn't have a CD drive you can buy an external one or copy the program to a USB drive. You then have your backup copy.

Well, it's all a matter of perspective isn't it?  If my timing belt breaks on my truck, it's much ado about nothing-- $50 and a couple hours work. For some people it's probably $2000 and 2 weeks without their vehicle.

To add insult to injury, I see Turbotax is raising their prices.  Probably so they can afford to hire thousands of clueless people to answer the tidalwave of phone calls from angry (former) customers.
