Today 2/08 turbotax updated info for form 7206 but I receive a message that says my taxes cannot be efiled!  I absolutely must efile.  No way am I sending all those paper forms.  Will this be available for efiling at a later date?

I just completed the latest turbo-tax update. Using Google Chrome. Rebooted the computer. Re-started Turbo-Tax. Get the same error message.

2/9/24 9pm cst.  This problem still NOT resolved.  Stop the lies and fix the problem. My last year for TurboTax. All this about clearing cache is not the solution. Just a guise to blame it on our computers.

I deleted Turbo Tax 2023 program & reinstalled from the download on Turbotax website. This also did not resolve the issue as of 2/10/2024. This still needs to be resolved by IT.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for the problem - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/insurance-medical-benefits/form-7206-added-return-turbotax-required-file/L9490jQnO_US_en_US?uid=lseshtac

Would you or someone else advise when this is resolved?

If you follow the link I put in that post right before your question.... you'll see at the bottom of the page a button that will register you for follow-up notifications.  I have done that and got the email saying thanks for registering for it, but have no other responses from TT as of yet 😞

I got this email from them (TT) - yesterday....as of now...NOT READY

e-file still not fixed for me too.  Plus Line 1 remains incorrect (and I can't believe the footnote on the bottom of the page works for the IRS).

It's 2/11 and I'm still having the same issue. I downloaded the final IRS "approved" version but it will not accept my return electronically - says I have to file by mail. NO WAY! That's why I paid for a version of TT with the federal return filing included. I've been using TT for decades and this is the first issue I've had with them, but its a BIG issue. This also screws up filing state and local taxes - now they also have to be mailed in. Is this going to be resolved? There's no way the IRS wants everyone who is self-employed mailing in their returns this year.

I just called TurboTax on Feb. 12, 2024, the date I am writing this. There is a technical problem with Form 7206. It is supposed to be fixed by Feb. 18. The agent told me to just wait and try e-filing again, anytime after Feb. 18.

Why are you not telling customers that form 7206 is still in draft form with the IRS?  https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/i7206--dft.pdf    You cannot file in any way a draft form.  Someone should be speaking with the IRS to find out the time frame for the form's approval.  Stop telling people to do fixes that won't work and are only upsetting people more.

Does anyone know if this is just a timing issue? i.e. if I wait another week or two, and do a TT update AGAIN, will I then be permitted to e-file?

February 12, 2024

None of us knows for sure.  I’m going to give it until Friday.  If we haven’t heard by then, I will remove the 7206 and Efile it.  Later I will amend, on paper if they haven’t fixed it by then, and get a refund.

Don’t think all that will be necessary.  They surely must know by now how distressing this is to so many of us.

As of 2/12, all updates installed, still cannot file. Getting same error message regarding Form 7206.
