    The response makes you call Turbo Tax.  I called three times for a problem trying to the the Business Version to complete a Trust return (it won't saying that the forms are not yet available... but they are easily found on line).  After waiting an hour for the first two times for them to call back, each time the Turbo Tax representative promptly hung up right after I told them my problem.  The third time I had to spend 15 minutes navigating a phone tree only to find that I'd have to wait on line for more than an hour.  Terrible service and terrible software!

    You can try messaging through Facebook or Twitter but there is no email contact method.   Calling is probably your best option but you can try social media as that may help too.

     

    There is a problem with your software - it does not appear to be up to date.   You can try the troubleshooting below but if you are still having issues, you will need to contact phone support or try the other options mentioned above.  

     

    If you're on a PC, open TurboTax and select Check for Updates from the Online menu near the top. On a Mac, simply quit and reopen TurboTax. If there are any updates, you'll be prompted to download them.

     

     

    Tips:

    • It's best to use a wired, high-speed connection when updating, both to save time and minimize data corruption.
    • If your connection drops in the middle of the update, try again; it should pick up where it left off.
    • If you're having trouble updating on your PC, try a manual update.

    Thanks for the information.  It allowed me to discover that I had bought an illegal copy of the software through Amazon without the proper access codes.  The firm that supplied it to Amazon is "llob".   I called Amazon and right away talked to a very helpful representative that authorized a return even though it was after 30 days.  On looking at the Amazon reviews I saw at least 4 others who had been suckered into trying to save $10 on a cd version.  Go with the download and relax!  The download version worked perfectly and nicely.  Thanks.

    How do I contact customer service?

    I got nowhere with phone support.

     

    I filed my taxes using the offer for $0 federal $0 state. I went to pay and was asked to pay $45. What I was charged was $105 with no explanation for the additional $60. I did not authorize this. Ive been scammed and I want my money back.

    On April 24, 2020, you folks did my taxes and took $125.00 from my checking account.  It was determined that I was to get a Federal Tax Return of $1,626.00.  Today is September 18, 2020, and I have not received a cent of my return back.  I am seventy-one years old, retired and the person who did my taxes told me that I would receive my return in six to eight weeks.  

    So, what is going on and why was I robbed and lied to by your company.  I can never trust you again.  My bills are getting any smaller as if you cared.

    TurboTax is do-it-yourself tax preparation software.  No one from TurboTax completed and filed your tax return for you.  Since you used the software it was up to you to either e-file or print and mail your tax return.

    Paying the TurboTax online account fees does not file your tax return.

     

    Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?

    You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

     

    After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

     

    Did you do this?

     

    Sign onto your TurboTax online account and the status of your tax return will be displayed - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

    What is the status of the federal tax return?

    If the status is Accepted then the tax return was e-filed and received by the IRS.

     

    Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.

     

    If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

     

    After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

    If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
    Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
    When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
    So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
    Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
    Then press 3 "for all other questions."
    Then press 2 "for all other questions."
    - When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
    - After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

    Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
    Then press 4 for all other inquiries
    It should then transfer you to an agent.

    I cannot get through to a live rep .

    I have requested a refund three different times with enough time between the requests to allow for reasonable processing .  I have called four different phone numbers and cannot get through to a live person.  This is absolutely ridiculous. I need someone to contact me asap.[phone number removed]

    You did my taxes on April 23, 2020. it is now 2-5-2021 and I still have not received the $1,626 Federal Refund that you showed that I would receive.  How long does it take?

    Is this still the subject of your case?   If so, the IRS opens up tomorrow February 12 to begin accepting or rejecting efiled returns.   They obviously cannot handle all the backlog efiled returns on the first day, so it could be tomorrow or a couple days later before you learn if yours was accepted or rejected.   In the meantime, if you are using Online TurboTax, you can log in and check the status of an efiled return at your Tax Home.    If it was successfully efiled, it should currently show as "pending" until the IRS accepts or rejects.  So be sure it's currently showing a status of "pending."

      If you are using desktop software, then you can check the status inside the TurboTax program.

     

    You "should" get an email when the IRS accepts/rejects your return, but can always check at the Tax Home.

     

    Otherwise, for info on a specific case number you'd need to speak to TurboTax Customer Support.

    Hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern) 7 days/week.

     

    If you were previously assigned a phone number, try the same phone number first.

    You did my taxes on April 23, 2020, and charged me $125.00.  Today is February 12, 2021, and I still have not received the $1,626.00 that you figured out that I would receive in Federal returns.  WHY, I paid you on that day, April 23, 2020, and I still have not received my return.  Please help me.

    @Thomas Bratton email is not a way to contact TurboTax.

     

    Phone support is not provided with the Free Edition.  If you are using a paid version of the software or if you purchased PLUS you can get phone support when customer support is there.  Otherwise, post your question here and someone will try to help.

    I would appreciate if turbo tax finally refunds the $50 it took from my account for 2019 tax return by luring me into paying services while it was supposed to be free based on my income which also resulted in a wrong tax return at the end because of TT outdated software and absence of help of any nature . Moreover TT made me fail getting my 2019 tax return done correctly and sent in time instead of helping me. It looks like TT billionaires are only interested in money and do not pity even hard working workers like me who lost everything because of such a pandemic trying to make money by all means. I am not joining the class action lawsuits underway against TT . I just want my $50 refunded as I badly need it being always unemployed ever since . thanks

    I understand all that ,thanks , but how come a company likeTT can not even provide its customers with a safe and secure email address asking not to email sensitive information because the email address is not secure enough. Sensitive information is not only ss# , it could be any other personal information. Unbelievable all this.
