I can't get Turbo Tax to e-file.  The final review doesn't show any errors.

All of the program updates are up-to-date.

It says "This return has certain forms that can't be e-filed, usually because of tax regulations, so you'll need to file by mail. For more details, select the Review tab, above, and continue through Final Review. To file by mail, select the file tab, continue and select File by Mail."

I don't want to wait for mailing it in.

what forms?  certain forms for your return may not yet be final so until they are you can't e-file. Turbotax is waiting for IRS approval so there's nothing it can do at this point. mailing your return with invalid forms may hold up your refund even more. The IRS won't open e-filing until 1/29. Submitting them now and they will just sit on Turbotax servers until that date so you can wait.

since this link for forms availability

for the agency box select US or state.

What is going on with form 5695, the residential energy tax credit? I was ready to file January 14, but could not because the form wasn't ready. At the time, TT said it would be ready Jan. 31 AND that the delay was the IRS's fault. BOTH STATEMEN TS WERE LIES.  I received an email from the IRS saying the final version of that form went to vendors (e.g. TT and others) ON DECEMBER 7, 2023.

TT then said it would be ready Feb. 7. Well, here it is, February 7, and now TT is saying it will be ready "soon." SO THAT IS ANOTHER LIE.

I do not need that form this year, but TT won't let me delete it, apparently because I have a prior-year carryforward that I cannot use.

Last year, I filed as soon as possible, and my refund was deposited to my account on January 18.  Here it is February  7, I have major bills to pay with a refund of over $3k, and TT won't file the return.  THIS IS A MAJOR ****UP BY TT.

I have used TT for about 20 years.  This is the last time. Major forms screwups, covered by lies.  Something has gone terribly wrong with Turbotax.

I hear ya. I am waiting for an Electric Vehicle credit, form 8936. It was supposed to be ready on January 31 and has been postponed to February 21. Same bunch of lies on follow-up. Tax return was ready to go January 15, except for this form. $14,000 refund held up for three weeks. This is irresponsible.

hope you guys get your problems corrected quickly. I couldn't send mine electronically either because of the schedule C problem. That was fixed last Wednesday I believe. Sent mine in that day and had the refund in my bank account yesterday 6 day turnaround.

As of February 14, 2024, I still can't file electronically because TurboTax says with form 7206 (Self-Employed Health Insurance), I must file by mail.  However, I've been getting messages saying that issue has been fixed.  I have uploaded the lasted updates from Turbo Tax and rebooted my computer but I still get the same error message.  When will this be fixed.

I am still getting this message as of 2/22 for the Qualified Disaster form. The Turbo Tax website says it’s ready for efile, yet it actually isn’t. When I finally spoke with a supervisor they said it would be available 2/21. It wasn’t ready by then. Now they’ve pushed it back to 2/28. This is ridiculous.

Ally, try shutting down your computer and then restarting it. Then, open up Turbo Tax and see if any updates come up. Install the updates and hopefully that will solve the problem. That's what worked for me and I was able to e file right after that.
