I purchase Turbo tax through Costco, downloaded the disk and everthough I paid for turbo tax premium, every return turbo tax is charging me 45$ and 25$ for each state, I didn't get my free state.  I've called twice to get support but they ask me to call back to get an operator who might know what turbo tax is charging me again and again.  I think turbo tax is so expensive and falsely advertising there service.  I guess I'll call again friday to see if they can help me get my 45$ per return back.   Signed last year of using turbo tax

There are two versions of TurboTax - one without a single state *software* included that is cheaper for those that do not need a state and one that included one state *software* that costs more (additional states are extra).

The state software does not include e-fileing state that is $25 extra, but you can print and mail the state for the price of a stamp - state e-file has never been free.

See I get that but, especially if your buying it online like I did, when you select federal and state it does not make it clear that e-filing for the state costs extra. That's deceitful and does not make me a very big fan of their product. I will have to use someone else next year who makes it clear what it is you are paying for.

I have been using TT for many years.  It has never included free state filing.  Only federal e filing is included.

It is annoying, but I print and mail the state returns for this reason.

Same thing here bought it at target and got charged 25 dollars to file for state 🙄 didn't find it worth even bothering to try and get it fixed I will just make sure to use someone else next year 😑

The  $25 for state is the cost to e-file. You can also just print it out and mail it.

As another responder said, you get one state included but extra states are $25 each for the software. So if you live in one state (say NJ) and work in another (NY) then you need to file two states - not Turbotax's fault!

Yes I get that, I work and live in one state so I'm only filing in one state. Like I said I purchased my code online and it didn't make it clear that you still have to pay to efile for the state it just says TurboTax federal and state efile. I shouldn't then have to pay to efile for the state too. I didn't say it's their fault but it is deceptive wording which is their fault and they should fix that 🤷‍♀️

I have never used TurboTax to file more than one federal and one state return for the tax year.  I have never paid a fee to e-file the federal return and the state return e-file fee is $25.  I would suggest you read the fine print for TurboTax use for multiple returns.

sucks, even more, this year.  Been using it for years now each year it gets worse. At least this year it started screwing up on the second question by stating I claimed a child that I have never claimed and got my kid's accounts all mixed up. Since it was the second question makes it easier to leave.  turbo tax also lobbies to keep tax filing complicated.

I have been using TurboTax self employed for years with satisfactory results. I paid $179 to include "expert advice" I have spent several hours on the phone and frankly your experts do not know what they are doing. The user interface is way more difficult than before and the tax calculation does not work properly.

A total disaster.

I requested a refund for the product when it failed to handle my fairly straightforward return because I used the product online. Apparently I won't be getting my money back due to a "satisfaction guaranteed policy," which is just adding insult to injury.

Support for this lemon of a product is obtuse or non-existent, to the point that one may as well negotiate the filing paperwork on one's own.

Congratulations, Intuit, you swindled me. Enjoy my money...this year.

I am absolutely frustrated with turbotax this year. My efile was getting rejected due to an issue with my spouse's AGI eventhough I had given the correct information. So I went to Cash app taxes and I was able to proceed with my e-filing. On top of it , now I won't be issued my refund citing reasons that it doesn't covered under Satisfaction guarantee.

@Duck River Al No one can tell who you agree with, since this thread is several years old and has posts from multiple users.   If you are having a problem using the software, post a clear and specific question so we can help.

I have never had a problem with Turbo Tax in over 25 years.

Yes, my state return has been rejected so many times I took a break... things like "Errors in Jury duty segments", I had nothing to do with any court!

What a lousy product. Hopefully they will get it right, my return is still not accepted.

Agree! Worst experience ever and I have been using for 10+ years. Get your **bleep** together Intuit or someone else (disrupter) will.

Amen

You are right, my friend. TurboTax sucks worse than any previous year. There's  bug regarding Form 1040 line 12B which will affect a high percentage of users, and they make stupid excuses when you complain. I been using this POC for about 20 years and it sucks big donkey dicks.
