Just hit the same error. Live in NJ as well. 

 

Called intuit and they saw my issue via screen share but left me on hold for an hour after seeing the issue. 

i opted to mail in NJ just to submit before i found this thread. 

wondering if i can go back and manually adjust and efile or if I’m stuck mailing in

I was also receiving this error. It seems to be FIXED! My state went through this morning. Good luck everyone.

Yes I finished installing the update for NJ for Desktop after I sent my message this morning, and efiled with no issues.  Which means the online version is fixed as well.

I was so frustrated yesterday and glad I got confirmation on last nights shift it was a known issue and they were actively working on. That is one good thing about Turbotax,  when they are aware of the issue, they jump right on it to resolve it. This was resolved fast, sometimes the issue can't be resolved as fast but they work diligently to get it resolved. I seen the disappointment on customer service being "clueless" per the posts on this, but sometimes when it is a new issue, not all reps have yet seen the notification of the issue, or it hasn't gone to all yet.  Plus depending on what department you were connected to, for example product support might have been notified first but if you have the Live service you probably connected directly to the live credentialed team to assist with the tax issues vs product support issues (although the live team assists with all (anything that gets connected to them).  And even if live team, not all know the tax law for every single state and may need to research to rule out the possibility of human error or that it really did not apply.......For myself peronally, I troubleshooted like crazy on my end to make sure it wasn't something I had input incorrectly. I put hours into that yesterday as this is my third season with Turbotax Part time and 99.99% of the time the issue ends up being human error.  Than finally this thread started and I was like YES it is not me!  lol

I think it was a scam from TurboTax to force us to upgrade and pay more money to get live advice for a service we didn’t need.

They refunded my upgrade.  They just did it never told me.
