To contact TurboTax customer service/support use their contact website during business hours.  If the problem concerns any type of refund for fees, use the key words billing issues and do Not use the word Refund or you will get a phone number for tax refunds.

Submit your question/problem during business hours and then use the option for Call (a phone number will be provided for Call) to speak directly with a TurboTax agent -

File a complaint with the IRS. Form 14157. Look them up under consumer affairs. They are scamming people. Maybe a class action lawsuit would work out for these idiots.

Turbotax on line took money off of me i didn't file the maximum I did the free and it took my money how would i get that back if it submit it by its self

According to what I was told we can’t, I had the same thing happened to me. Three charges in the taxes never even filed. I’m about to file a complaint with the IRS.

It is not free. Last year I was charged 90 dollars and this year 120.

You used the Deluxe online edition and Not the Free edition for a federal tax return - $40

State tax return when using the Deluxe edition or higher - $40

Option to pay the TurbTax account fees with the federal tax refund - service charge $40

Thus - $120

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2019 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.

If you are eligible you can use the TurboTax Free File Program which is free to file both a federal and state tax return. The Free File Program edition is a full featured personal tax program and on a separate website from the TurboTax online editions.

 

To qualify for free 2019 federal and state tax returns with the Free File Program, you'll need to meet at least one of these requirements:

  • A maximum 2019 adjusted gross income (AGI) of $36,000; or
  • You qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC); or
  • You served as active duty military (including Reservists and National Guard) with a maximum 2019 AGI of $69,000 (you'll also need a military-issued W-2).

You are able to begin your tax return using TurboTax Free Edition, but if you do not qualify for it, you will be prompted to upgrade.

This will be the second year that turbo tax messed up my direct deposit. When i entered my account number i triple checked to make sure it was correct and for some reason the software or someone changed it by adding a zero in front causing my refund to be sent by mail. Not to mention there was no notifications of the refund being mailed. I WILL NOT BE USING TURBO TAX EVER AGAIN. Going back to Tax Act where i have no problems.

This is the worst website I have ever been to. It's impossible to find anything.. I'm leaving this message because they won't let me leave a review of the product... Turbotax is a ripoff and they don't care... I bought the cd, installed it and when I went to do my taxes it said the reg number was invalid.. It came from intuit.. I bought a second cd, completed my taxes but didn't file.. When I went to file it would not let be get past the 'you need to download state' message.. Over and over but never downloaded state.. I had to print my taxes from the pdf and mail it in.. Wasted $200 and over a weeks time and phone calls that nobody knows an answer.. Could have done my taxes by hand in two hours and not spent any money.. WORST WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY...!!

I have attempted to file my taxes and it been on the phone with TurboTax to an hours total once on Saturday and once today there is no place for me to claim the ciovid rebate refund on TurboTax. I'm not sure why this can't be fixed and until it's fixed I am unable to buy taxes I would ask that someone get on this and fix it and please contact me at Steve [email address removed] or [phone number removed] or you will be soon to lose a customer forever

The stimulus questions are asked in the Federal Review section of the TurboTax program.  Any payment you were eligible to receive based on the 2020 Federal tax return but did not receive will be entered on the Federal tax return, Form 1040 Line 30 as a tax credit.  The credit is included in the federal tax refund or it will reduce the amount of federal taxes owed.

 

If you are not seeing the stimulus question page in Federal Review then there are 2 reasons it would be not available.

1.  You entered in the My Info section that you can be claimed as a dependent.

2.  Your 2020 AGI is to high to be eligible for the stimulus payments.  The payments are phased out if your 2020 AGI is -

• $150,000 if married filing jointly or qualifying widow(er)
• $112,500 if head of household
• $75,000 if single or married filing separately

There is no way to select the version right in the beginning. It automatically assume from the previous year's info and decide the version. To change the version, it is asking to clear and start over' which I doubt will work. It should allow to select version in the beginning. I think, this is a deliberate move by Turbotax software to mint extra Bucs from the customer ( as there is a little difference between 90 and 100 dollars for the a single customer who reaches a point of filing after entering lots of info. They simply let it go!) . This is a kind of fraud!

I filed for free and in order to submit I had to pay, I was charged 207 to be paid from my federal refund, I called to complain I kept be putting on hold and then told she (Desiree) would call me back . No call back! I kept getting an error Meg that I had to choice expert advise to make a correction or I could not submit. I finally did so! There were no mistakes to correct! Just wanted money! Service is not free, bait and switch scam! Should be fined!

I want to file a complaint about turbotax, specifically about the difficulty in getting live phone support in completing my amended 2022 returns. This type of support appears to be non-existent. I filed amended returns after adding a 1099R which I had inadvertently omitted from my original returns. This income did not populate as RMD income on my amended returns (for which I was charged a substantial fee by turbotax) and now I need to again amend my returns. I attempted to reach the support center, first via chat which was unhelpful, then by trying to reach a live person by phone which was impossible. I will not use turbotax again unless this matter is resolved.
